Why is good oral care so important in these times? Delayed dental care can lead to discomfort in the mouth, higher costs, and also a greater chance of more disease burden in case of infection. After all, healthy starts in the mouth, and with a healthy mouth one are protected against all kinds of diseases. Plaque and gums don't mix well! Plaque mainly consists of bacteria and if left untreated it can lead to periodontal disease (inflammation of the gums). Periodontitis patients are more susceptible to other illnesses, including pneumonia.
Why you can come to the practice? We notice that a number of patients cancel their appointments because they are afraid of getting the COVID virus in our practice or because they are or have been infected with the virus and they do not dare to come, even if the infection already took place several weeks ago. However, a visit delay can lead to problems with your teeth!
How do we work? Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, we have been working in accordance with the Guidelines for Oral Care Corona of our branch organization KNMT and in fact, that is no different than a further tightening of the already applied high hygiene requirements that we use in practice. You can see us working at the chair with double personal protective equipment and we advise you to wear a mouth mask when entering the practice and in the waiting room and to disinfect your hands with alcohol both when entering and leaving the practice. We also ask you to keep 1.5 meters away from other patients in the waiting room, which is easily possible thanks to our large practice room. We also take this into account with the appointment schedule, so that there are never too many patients present at the same time.
What else do we do? After each treatment, we ventilate the treatment room and the assistants clean the treatment chair and the equipment. They also clean the parts you touched, such as the door handles, with alcohol.
What do we ask of you? If you have an appointment, it is important that you are on time, you do not come too early or too late, we want to prevent too many people in the waiting room at the same time. More importantly, do not come to the practice if you are unwell, have a cough, and have a fever of more than 38 degrees. Please stay at home and call the practice (076-5324960) or send an email email@example.com to report that you are ill. We can then use the treatment time reserved for you for another patient.
My tip! It is wise to keep your immune system healthy. Especially now that the R is back in the month, the regular use of vitamins C and D, but also of Zinc, is good for your immune system and the health of your mouth. Remember that "Healthy Begins in the Mouth"!
Finally. Our assistants, fellow dentists, and I hope to see you again soon in our modern and safe Mondzorg Tridenzo practice. See you soon in our practice.
